Prelude

Proudly owned by Katelyn Welch

This story was sent to us by Amber Allen, Katelyn Welch's trainer.

Prelude was purchased in December 2001 through the CANTER site. He was successful in breaking his Maiden, but after that, racing did not seem to be in Prelude's future. He has now been turned into a very successful and beautiful hunter and pleasure horse.

Katelyn Welch is now the proud owner of Prelude. He was an early birthday present from her family in the middle of September.  Katie knew Prelude from the day he came to the barn from Hawthorne and she watched his entire re-training take place.

Katie and Prelude just finished their first hunter show together at Fields and Fences where they compeated in the Long Stirrup Division and placed in almost every class against riders who had owned their horses for much longer than three weeks!

When you see Prelude and Katie together, you know that there is a great bond forming between the two of them. In the short amount of time that Katie and Prelude have been together, they have enjoyed many hours in the riding ring, the show ring, and on the trail. We will keep you posted on the future success of this pair. Pictures of Prelude and Katie coming soon!
