1. Bodey

Bodey is a 4 year old bay gelding, 15.3+ (just a smidge under 16 hands, and still growing and filling out!). He came off the track this last summer and is now starting his retraining in the Southern Pines area of North Carolina. He has been trail ridden, jumped, and is starting ring work.

2. Archie

Archie is a very handsome 7 year old gelding who came to us from Delaware Park.  He is currently enjoying some much needed R & R at our Frederick farm.  Archie has been evaluated under saddle and shows a lot of promise as an excellent mount.

Parker is a 8 yr 16.1 h tb gelding. He last ran in Sept 2008 and has been in retraining for over a year now but not on a consistent basis. Parker just arrived at my barn a month ago so I have not had a chance to test him out over fences yet but I can already tell this guy is truly something special. He truly loves trail riding and will go out alone or in groups. Leads or follows and nothing fazes him. He has been x-country schooling and happily went through the water, across the ditches, up and down banks and hopped over a bunch of fences on his forth ride after his track career! This boy can seriously move! He has a nice ground covering trot and uphill canter. I have been told he can seriously jump and I intend to try it out once he is a bit fitter.

4. Bid

"Bid" is one of our special favorites at CANTER.  He is five years old and about 16.1 hands.  Bid is one of the silliest characters you'll ever meet - he loves people and attention, and is a joy to have around.  He is a fun and straightforward horse to ride, who is excellent both on trails and in the ring.

5. Sister

This four year old bay filly is a potential powerhouse.  She stands around 16 hands and is quite athletically built and very attractive.  She has been with us for almost a year and is fully rested and ready to go.  She has also been ridden and introduced to jumps.

15.2 h 5 yr Tb Mare

Indy's Chic aka Dee arrived at my farm in January to begin her retraining. I had her full brother in training for a year and he was the perfect all around horse who was sweet as could be and very sensible. Dee is very much like Indy's Wolf and she is proving to be an easy restart. She is very brave and settle right into the farm and is happy to be ridden all over on a loose rein or with contact. I find her to be very willing and sensible both undersaddle and on the ground. She has a soft mouth and has already picked up on reaching into the contact. She will go through water and across ditches. She is a total lovebug on the ground and enjoys grooming and attention. Loves baths and even lets  you wash her face. She has great manners and seems like the type of horse that would fit most people. She has no vices besides playing in her water with her lips. She is sound with no blemishes and has really nice feet. Currently barefoot. Right now she needs some weight and muscle but that is all easy to fix. She is located in Camden, Delaware. $1500 email me at jessicamorthole@yahoo.com for more pics/video/info.

You can read about her progress here- http://dixierumble.wordpress.com/

7. Wek

Yes, yes - such a strange name for a pretty mare!  Wek has been with us for a few years now and it is time for her to find a permanent home.

8. Leo

Every once in a while, we get horses in at CANTER who just ooze their special-ness.  When 3 year old Leo showed up at CANTER, it was immediately obvious he was one of those characters that we were all going to grow to love.  "Leo" as we call him (he lets his ears flop sideways when he is happy, like "Leo the Lop"), absolutely loves attention and people, and will make someone very happy someday.

"Klon" as we call him, is a 6 year old 15.3 hand chestnut gelding who has been with CANTER for some time now.  He retired from racing with a bowed tendon, but healed remarkably well and is sound for all kinds of activities (looking for an eventer?).  He's also one of the most FUN horses you'll ever meet!!

10. Cecil

"Cecil" is a ten year old gelding who was very successful in his time at the races, earning well over a quarter million dollars in his lifetime.  After re-injuring a tendon, his owners decided he had earned a nice retirement and sent him to us. After a little stall rest and turnout time, he is now sound and ready to go to a new home.  A bit of a personality, Cecil seems to enjoy work and wants a job.  Can you give him one?
