Buca- 3yo 15.1h chestnut gelding with one sock and a blaze. He has been off the track about six weeks and is looking for a new career. He has never started as he has shown very little interest in the sport (his two published works show he is quite slow). He has a very good head on his shoulders, and has settled into farm life. Buca is looking for a partner to finish him in any discipline desired. He is easy to be around on the ground but not for the novice rider. This beautifully conformed gelding is is currently being let down on the farm 30 minutes from Laurel. |

CONGRATULATIONS to Linda and her daughter Sharlee. Evan now resides in picturesque Metamora, Michigan. This bright boy loves jumping and I'm sure he will excel in his training as a Fox Hunter. Forever September, aka Evan is a three year old 16hh gelding. He was lightly raced, and is sound for any discipline. He has been started over fences and is very brave. He has been trail ridden alone and with company, and is an easy ride. He is very quiet with a good mind. Evan gets along with other horses in turn out and has no vices. He has the little cloudy spot behind vision in right eye but will pass a full vet check. Email Pam or call 440-487-3829 |

2006 16.2-3 chestnut gelding. Moe is a baby at only 4-years-old and has a very funny personality! He is a "roarer" so was not competitive racing. He is ok for most all other disciplines including jumping but his real strength will be in the dressage ring. Moe has an unusual shaped head, sad puppy dog eyes and rather large ears! We jokingly call him the ugly duckling because in the arena he turns into a swan and is a phenomenal mover. Dressage riders here is your superstar! Moe has an uphill build with a lofty, ground covering trot that has great extension and a beautiful uphill canter. He is responsive to voice commands while being longed and did well his first time being ridden. Moe is relatively calm but due to his young age and size we feel he would be best suited for an experienced rider or an advanced intermediate rider with trainer. Moe needs to mature mentally and physically as he has a lot of body to coordinate.

Tornado Boy is an 8 year old bay gelding and is 15.2 hands. This is a been there done that out of your pocket kind of horse. Tornado Boy is 100% sound and is a retired pony horse from Churchill Downs. He gets along great with other horses and has a very calm demeanor (except when it comes to horse flies, we could not get him to stand still for the pictures) Tornado Boy was retired from the track last year and is ready for a new career. He has great ground manners, doesn’t spook easily and is friendly. His owner thinks he would excel in a variety of trades. She believes that he would be an excellent hunter/jumper prospect, dressage or pleasure horse. Tornado Boy is located at his owners farm in Louisville KY. $1,500 Please contact Jean at 502-367-4556 (home) or 502-291-6371(cell) for more information. Sweet Angel Elaine, just off the track, lovely big 4 year old filly, stands 16hh, dark brown. Her legs look clean but she is currently a little sore. Her owner recommends a good vetting and some time off if she were to make a riding horse. Looks like a great prospect for the sport horse breeder. Very kind to work with. This pretty girl has only had 10 starts, and is a grand-daughter of both Dixieland Band and Two Punch. $500.00 Martha Green: 410-875-2284 |

3 year old 15.3hh well bred bay mare by Out of the Box. Very flashy nicely put together girl. She won a few races but seems to have lost interest after only 7 starts. The trainer thinks it is time for her to try something new. Very quiet and sweet. This is an athletic and good looking girl who should excel in a variety of disciplines. Asking $1000. Russell Davis (304) 279-4061 |

4 year old 15.2hh bay mare by Valiant Nature. Super cute filly and just not making it as a race horse. The owners would like her to move on to a more suitable career. She has a very sweet and laid back demeanor. This kind-eyed filly is described as sound with no vices. "Rosie" has 16 starts, and has been owned by the same people for her entire racing career. $500. "Master Gino" is a 4 year old, 16.3 hand grey gelding This very attractive gelding is just not making it at the track and clearly doesn’t want to be a race horse according to his trainer. When he stepped into their barn they knew right away that he needed to put a lot of weight on, and have already made progress; they report that he’s gobbling up his food and quickly gaining weight. He is sound, and has loads of personality to go a long with his good looks; his favorite game is to have his tongue pulled on as he demonstrated for the volunteers. Clearly an excellent prospect with some more weight he should transition well into a new career. Call Richard Retamoza 339-226-0828 Price: $3,500 neg

"Sensational View" 5 year old, 15.3 hand chestnut gelding The volunteer’s first impression of this sweet gelding was that he would make a super fun horse for a 4-H or Pony Clubber! He was actually bred by George Steinbrenner's Kinsman Stable and is well bred: by a son of Mr. Prospector out of a Deputy Minister mare (D.M. is in the Hall of Fame and produces notably durable, sensible horses). Trainer is looking to sell because he is not making his way at the track and wants to make sure he finds him an excellent home. This gelding has a great disposition and “does everything right”, and is sound. He’s even gone in western tack and been used as a pony horse for a little bit. This versatile horse has a laid back personality and should make someone an excellent new friend! Mike Meese 216-386-7298 $500 obo to a good home only

|
"Full of Sunshine" 4 year old, 16.2 hand bay filly When asked why he was listing this filly with CANTER the trainer's response was “well, she’s slow”. Clearly a very nice and friendly horse, Full of Sunshine greeted the volunteers eagerly and with lots of curiosity. Trainer reports she is clean legged and has no vices, and an excellent horse to ride, going to the track in a simple D-ring snaffle bit. In good health and dappled out she’ll strike an excellent figure in the show ring. Call Bobby Kelly 339-222-3748 or Walter Wright 617-623-6318 $500

"Midnight Clear" 5 yo 16.2H bay gelding This very handsome son of Kentucky Derby winner Fusaichi Pegasus is just not willing to be a race horse anymore, though sound, per his trainer. He thinks it’s very clear that he’s just not willing to run anymore and would like to make sure he has a good home. Good to work with, he is excellent under tack and should be able to transition nicely into a new career. Call Randy Andrews 617-799-3388 Price: $500 obo

"Canadian Missile" is a 4 year old 16.1H chestnut gelding This very flashy chestnut is ready for a new career and should be suitable for any discipline. Trainer reports that he’s completely sound, but just isn’t making at the track: unless he’s out front he’s not happy and will quit running. The trainer thinks he’d be much more suitable in a new career off the track. Good to work with and with no vices. By the way: this boy is bred up the gazoo--by Golden Missile, who is a son of the Hall of Fame stallion A.P. Indy out of an Alphabet Soup mare (A.S. won close to $3MM during his career and is a stunning horse). Definitely one to take a good look at as his blue blood predigree shows! "Pushed Over" is a stunning 16.2 hand, 4 year old dappled grey stallion. He quietly stood with a filly right next to him as we were taking a picture; trainer said that it was a true indication of his excellent, laid back, unstuddish personality. This handsome boy comes by his looks honestly: he was sired by the Kentucky stallion "The Cliff's Edge", who earned over a million during his career. Class does show! He has recently experienced some stiffness in his stifles and some arthritic changes in his ankle and is ready for a new home and career Michele Londano 352-653-9261 $800

"Tiznow My Way" is a stunning 16.3 hand, 8 year old dark bay stallion. Handsome and dappled, this boy has an excellent personality and, per trainer, "...he’s good to work with and not studdish at all". Sired by the great Tiznow--who is noted for siring horses with heart and great minds-- he earned over $130K in his career and could make an excellent breeding prospect or, if gelded would make an excellent husband or trail horse. He is out of a Bold Forbes mare; this stallion won both the Kentucky Derby and the Belmont Stakes. Can't get much better bred than this boy, and it shows! He actually sold for $140K as a two year old. Call Lorita 603-670-8192 (trainer's English isn't solid, so she has agreed to help field calls) Price: $500

"Vestments" is a handsome 7 year old dappled grey (gelded) son of Holy Bull that has been off the track for about a year. His owner described him as a love bug and as docile as can be. He’s been ridden on the farm and has had some low level dressage work put in him, but his owner recognizes that they just don’t have the time to put the training in him that he needs. Noting that while the love him, it’s “not fair” to keep him because he wants a job and loves to please, a good home is most important. Trainer feels he’d be best as a flat prospect with minimal low jumping. Can be seen on the farm. Elana Storlazzi 603-203-1209 $3,999 |

PA-T1825-08 Proud Diva, 2006 chestnut mare, 15.3 hands. This one could be a Pin-Up Model! What a looker; this girl has chrome, charisma and a nicely balanced build to entice riders of ALL disciplines. We think she’ll particularly excel in the Hunter Ring, as she has a nice, ground-covering stride that is low to the ground. Fortunately, she has a personality to match her build; a totally sweet and attentive girl, she seems like a sensible and willing type. Her owner, who is in charge of her daily care, treats this girl like the princess she is… including breakfast in bed – every day, Diva is brought muffins and cereal for a hearty breakfast! This little mooch loves all sorts of treats! It’s obvious her owner adores this mare and is very dedicated to finding her the perfect home where she’ll be appreciated and loved as much as she does now… and with this girl’s looks and movement, people should be standing in line! Please note, Diva does have some minute rounding of her left front ankle; it does not bother her in the least and should never be an issue. She raced the day before her listing and trotted out extremely SOUND for her listing! $1000. Erin McElwee 717-439-1455. |

PA-T1824-08 General Song, 2007 bay colt, 15.2 hands. Prince Charming! What subtle beauty this one offers; a big, bulky guy with nice structure, it’s easy to get excited over this one. We’ll still go down saying his personality is what stood out the most to us. Unbelievably kind, with a “teddy bear” disposition, we could have stood and petted this guy all day! His personality transfers under saddle, where his trainer says he has always been “dead quiet” to ride. An Elusive Quality son, sire of SMARTY JONES, we think this guy could certainly be sought after for BREEDING. Not studdy or mouthy in any shape or form, we also are confident this guy would make a lovely gelding! With only 4 starts, this one has next to no wear or tear, he just isn’t training well on the dirt. He was vetted last week and was given the clear as being 100% sound! Please note, General was pin-fired previously and has similar marks on his left rear hock, which may have been freeze firing. Ready for a new home TODAY! $400, with special considerations to a good home. Heather O’Hearn 410-241-1971. |

PA-T1823-08 Our Lucky Leo, 2008 bay gelding, 15.1 ½ hands. Some kind of WONDERFUL! What a super sweet fellow this one is. Leo has a fantastic hunter build and the personality to suit kids and amateurs. With his level head carriage, nice, round hind end and good proportions, we expect him to be quite the mover! But some things are too good to be true; unfortunately, this nice, young horse has a slab fracture. It has been thoroughly diagnosed, the fracture has not displaced, so a full recovery is expected. The vet has x-rays available for your review, but his rehab will include four months stall rest (September – December), followed by restricted turnout, building up to full riding. His rehab requires no special skills; take him home today, groom and fuss over him until spring when he’ll be ready to go back to work and you’ll have a fantastic three year old partner. No starts with this one. ADORABLE! $400, with special considerations to a good home. Heather O’Hearn 410-241-1971. |

PA-T1822-08 Alkys Boy, 2002 bay gelding, 15.3 hands. What a TANK! This is one BEEFY, bulky boy who could pass as a Quarter Horse, both in build and personality. An honest sort, with a kind expression, we really can’t critique this one. He’s been with his current trainers for three years and they just rave about him. In fact, they trust this guy so much, they use him for pony rides for their 5 year old grand-daughter! Not many racing fit horses can do that job! This one clearly has the make-up to be a fantastic kid’s or amateur’s horse... and a cute mover to boot! We’re told he’s EASY, EASY, EASY – easy on the ground/sensible, easy under tack/anyone can gallop and easy to enjoy/he has a wicked cute personality! Please note, Alky has some rounding of his front ankles; not an issue, they are set, superficial and should never pose an issue. Gotta love him! $1000, negotiable to a great home. Ben West 717-774-2980, Becky 717-497-6928 or e-mail ben.west@verizon.net. |

PA-T1821-08 Becca’s Dancer, 2004 chestnut mare, 15.2 hands. Truly ELEGANT! This is a special mare; a HOMEBRED and the namesake of the trainer’s daughter, you know this one has been fussed over since day 1. You’ll get a complete history with this girl and the assurance that she has had top notch care her entire life. A mare who LOVES to WORK, we think this one will be happiest in an Eventing or Jumping career where she will be challenged and appreciated for her drive and intelligence! A very nice, flowy mover, she clearly lives up to her name and should score extremely well in the Dressage phase of Eventing! She impresses as a POWERHOUSE, athletic and scopey, with a very sharp, bright personality. Please note, this girl does have some rounding of her left front ankle, but it should never be an issue, she’s been training SOUND on it for quite some time! A very memorable girl, her family insists on finding her THE perfect home! $1000, with special considerations to a great home. Becky 717-497-6928, Ben West 717-774-2980 or e-mail ben.west@verizon.net. |

PA-T1820-08 Redings Mill, 2006 bay gelding, 16.2 ½ hands. IDEAL PROSPECT! A big, handsome, muscular guy, we think this one will excel at whatever you want to do; Hunters, Jumpers, Eventing, you name it! You are looking at a horse with a nicely angulated hind end, a big, commanding shoulder and great proportions, making him a solid project! On top of that, this guy only has six starts, so next to no wear or tear; he’s just too slow to make racing a career. Trainer’s loss is your gain; who wouldn’t want a nice YOUNG horse, who has been properly started, at a reasonable price? No problems, vices or issues what-so-ever! Talk about a well-rounded athlete! $1800, negotiable. Gus Harigeorgiou 717-395-0768. |

PA-T1819-08 Run Jickster Run, 2005 bay gelding, 16.0+ hands. Be still my heart… when you see this one move you will be MESMERIZED! Standing still he looks like an acceptable prospect; but seriously, when this horse moves, so will your jaw… ABSOLUTELY jump up and down GORGEOUS! We’re thinking this one will excel in Eventing, Dressage and Jumping, as he has a soft, elegant suspension and a huge, effortless, ground-covering stride. Jickster has done well for his trainer so a great home is of utmost importance to his trainer, no more racing for this one! We’re told he has always been SOUND, with absolutely no problems! To add to that, his groom is very fond of him, saying he has a very playful, fun personality. How could you say “no”? This is a horse dreams are made of: a big, athletic gelding, with fantastic movement, a sweet personality and priced to sell! Must see to appreciate, call today! $1500. PA-T1818-08 T T Gourmet, 2005 chestnut mare, 16.1 ½ hands. LEGGY! This girl is a tall drink of water with a compact, powerful build and a lot of flash. Unfortunately, T T had a lousy week after having an accident on the Equisizer two days prior to her listing in which she scraped up her face and hind legs, as well as torqueing her right front ankle. She was a little tired and sore for her listing; her trainer said she’s always been a super sound horse, but the accident took a lot out of her. She should be feeling herself by the end of the week and we suspect she’ll be moving soundly again. In fact, her trainer said that she has always had a great way of moving with low to the ground, hunter-style movement... PLUS everyone who has ridden her, loved her – very sensible! Please note, T T does have textbook osselets on both front legs, but they are set and have never bothered her in the least. This girl struck a chord with us; she has very expressive eyes and a lot of heart, making us believe she is very deserving of consideration! $500, with special considerations to a great home. Adele Bennett 585-738-0156. |

"Rollacoasta", 4yo bay gelding, 16 hands This handsome guy has loads of personality and a quick, athletic manner that should make him a fun riding prospect. "Magazine", 9 year old dark bay gelding, 16.2 hands This very handsome dappled gelding has earned his retirement from racing at nine years old...pic doesn't really do him justice. Trainer wants to retire him now while he is still sound as has noticed some arthritic changes in his knee that just aren’t holding up to racing anymore. His groom described him as an absolute gentleman who loves peppermints. This is an incredibly striking horse with intelligence, personality and charisma. Back in the Listings!! PA-T1665-01 Ghostly Spirit, 2003 bay mare, 16.2 ½ hands. EVENTERS TAKE NOTE! A lovely, athletic mare with a strong, balanced build, this is the type of prospect that will be quickly snapped up. Built to be a nice mover with a big imposing shoulder and hind end… and great angles – this horse will make someone very happy! Spirit has been with her trainer for over two years and it is easy to see that this she has firmly rooted herself in his heart, becoming his barn favorite. He says she is great to work with, athletic and has been quite successful for him. Please note, this sweet mare had a bad experience knocking her hip on her stall door (NO injury, though) and is currently apprehensive about entering and exiting her stall, but she is a bold mare and super pleasant to handle and great to work on when she in the stall, so a little patient handling will quickly remedy the situation. JUST GORGEOUS and IMPRESSIVE! UPDATE 9/6/10: Spirit has been training under a new trainer for the past few months, is doing great, but it's time to find her a non-racing home... more goregous than ever! $1000. Gus Harigeorgiou 717-395-0768. |

PA-T1817-08 Perfect Game, 2000 bay gelding, 16.0 hands. What a SWEETHEART! “Skippy,” as he is affectionately known, has always been the quintessential “good guy.” In fact, one of the outriders at Penn always referred to him as “the happiest horse on the track” because he was always so agreeable and eager to work! His track days are behind him, he stopped racing two years ago and has had quite a bit of after track training including working as a Pony Horse at the track, trail riding and ring riding! He has been ridden both English and Western and has started neck reining. He is a gentleman in the tack, no buck, no rear, not a spooky guy and he’s seen some exciting things on the trail. His trainer is beyond in love with this horse, unfortunately she can not afford to keep him any longer and wants to find someone who will fuss over and adore him as much as she does. A real pleasure with a beautiful, classy head and expression! What a LOVE! $2499. Babette Muzzy 717-813-5031. |

"Lucrative Deal" is a 5 year old, 16.1 hand dappled grey gelding.
Simply not making it at the track, it’s become clear that he needs a different job and he should be suitable for anything, and with his good looks would make a striking children’s hunter prospect. A good mover, he’s great under tack and is clearly fun to be around with great stall manners; we pulled him away from his feed to take a quick picture and he wasn’t grumpy or mean, maybe just a little annoyed. In fact, when he saw the volunteers he perked up and started looking for peppermints! Alison 860-671-0077 $1,500 neg.

He has a big shoulder and good angles in his hind end with lovely proportions, making him a very nice Hunter style mover! His trainer said he never does anything wrong and has a personality that would be very suitable for kids and amateurs! A super sweet horse with an amusing expression, we think he’d be a memorable addition to anyone’s farm. An A.P. Indy grandson, this guy comes from a long line of racing and sport horse athletes! No issues what-so-ever, SOUNDer than a dollar and no mileage on this one! $1000. Stephanie Tate 717-645-3907. |

"Rome is Burning" is a 17.1 hand, 7 year old bay gelding...big, handsome, intelligent...really quite a striking horse! Trainer has claimed this horse back 6 times throughout his career--he cares about him that much...and he won his last race going away--but it's now time for "Romey" to retire to find a forever home away from the track. Romey is a very elegant mover and with his size and presence could be a stellar dressage horse, but is also intelligent enough to make a nice trail prospect for the taller rider. http://www.pedigreequery.com/i+got+vision I Got Vision. 2006, 15.3 hand, gelding. No vices. This hard knockin boy lost his mother when he was born and was then paired with a nurse mare who bit off part of his ear. Talk about a rough childhood. Off of his last race, he developed a small amount of knee soreness. Not sore enough to take x-rays, but enough for the trainer to cut this horse a break and move him on to another career. This boy is mannerly. For those who want to check him out, he'll be at Delaware Park until around mid September, and then he'll go out to a farm. For inquires or to purchase, please contact Anita at (305)-731-6094. Price is $500 obo.

"Tough Heart" is a 16.1 hand, 4 year old dark bay mare. Trainer tells us that she made the mistake of buying this horse cause she was so darn good looking...and we agree. Sadly, good looks don't get you to the winner's circle, so this peach of a mare needs to find a second career. She's by the equally handsome sire Lion Hearted who was a talented multiple graded stakes winner, so lots of quality here! Trainer says that she doesn't normally gallop horses, but takes this one out to work as she is super easy under saddle and floats over the ground. Call Alison Hassig/(860) 671-0077 Price: $1,500

"Repentyourwickedways" is a strapping 16.1 hand, 3 year old bay gelding with much personality, but not a great deal of wickedness in him...Trainer showed us a baby pic of him while we were looking at him and he's every bit as cute now! She's taken incredible care of this horse and his happy disposition and great condition reflect that. In addition to being tall and good looking, this horse is a very nice mover!
