CANTER provides the means for the public to view Thoroughbred racehorses that are ending their racing careers and are available for purchase or adoption.
CANTER is an all Volunteer organization, so EVERY dollar donated goes to help the Thoroughbreds transition into second careers.
Meet "Fist Pump" – one of the horses helped by your donations to CANTER USA.
The Communication Alliance to Network Thoroughbred Ex-Racehorses (CANTER) provides retiring thoroughbred racehorses with opportunities for new careers.
Thoroughbred Racing is known as the ‘Sport of Kings.’ Known for their tremendous heart, the Thoroughbred is capable of reaching 40 miles per hour, and can sustain this speed for some distance. Yet despite it’s strong will to win, the Thoroughbred’s racing career is often over at age three or four when most horses are just beginning their careers. Some are retired from racing due to an injury, some are simply not fast enough to earn their way in this highly competitive sport.
Through our website, CANTERUSA.org, CANTER provides the means for the public to view thoroughbred racehorses that are ending their racing careers and are available for purchase or adoption.
