It will be to your advantage to understand HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS and WHAT TO EXPECT when considering a retiring racehorse as an addition to your family.

Suffolk Downs has reopened for racing as of May 3, 2008! If you see a horse you like on our listings, you may either call the trainer directly to set up an appointment, or you may arrange to look at horses for sale at the track while escorted by a CANTER NE volunteer. CANTER volunteers are available to escort buyers on Saturday mornings from 8-11 AM. Please e-mail us to make an appointment for a Saturday shopping excursion!

Not ready to buy, but still want to help an OTTB? Please consider fostering a TB in need!

NOTICE:

PLEASE ONLY CALL A TRAINER, AND/OR MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO COME SEE A HORSE OR HORSE(S), IF YOU ARE SERIOUS ABOUT BUYING AN OTTB NOW. If you do not have the stall, funds, training resources, or other arrangements in place to take on a horse at this time: PLEASE do not call the trainers or come to the track, out of fairness to the horses (and to the people taking the time out of their workday to show and talk about their horses to you.) IF TRAINERS FEEL THAT THEY ARE WASTING THEIR TIME ON "TIREKICKERS," THESE HORSES ARE THE ONES WHO ULTIMATELY PAY THE PRICE.
Thank you for your consideration.

(Wonder how the trainers view the selling experience?
