The CANTER NE volunteers were recently treated to
a wonderful surprise: a generous donation from the
Ashburnham-Westminster
Regional School District's INTERACT Club!
Club president Caeli wrote us a moving letter
detailing the club's all-day waffle breakfast,
with proceeds benefiting CANTER NE! THANK YOU,
Caeli and friends, from the OTTBs!

Our hearts are full of gratitude to "DressageGeek" on
the Chronicle of the
Horse Messageboard, a board full of truly wonderful folks. DressageGeek organized a Secret Santa for Horse Rescues among the board's posters, and CANTER NE was a very fortunate
recipient! COTH has been so generous to CANTER NE and we want to thank all the members of the
messageboard!

We also must say a special thank you to Lori of
Sunkissed Acres
Rescue in Georgia, who generously donated items to CANTER NE as part of the COTH Messageboard Secret Santa for Rescues!
Lori and her group do incredibly difficult but essential work, and we are so touched that they've extended a hand to help our
rescue-ees, too!
PLEASE CONSIDER SUPPORTING SUNKISSED ACRES IN THEIR RESCUE EFFORTS: contact Lori at miasmom@alltel.net to see how you can help!

"THANK YOU" just doesn't seem enough to say to Jessica Creighton, Bruce Stone, and all the folks
at the New Hampshire International Speedway for generously giving CANTER NE space for a fundraising booth at the
NASCAR Sylvania 300! The event was a huge success, and the proceeds will do so much for our horses in adoptive care, as well as for horses still at the track and awaiting
assistance. Jessica has personally come to the aid of several Suffolk horses in crisis in the last couple of years...and she and Bruce, along with their friends at
NHIS, are continuing to build a legacy of kindness,
with great ramifications for New England's racers on four legs (instead of four wheels)!

Many, many thanks to Tom Cross and his amazing team at King Oak Farm! Through their
generously allowing CANTER to have a presence at their Fall Trials, essential funds were raised that will help many horses. The world-class nature of this farm extends well beyond its gorgeous
facilities - it's a truly compassionate place, too.
Everyone had a wonderful time at our
first-ever Benefit
Hunter Pace at King Oak on May 18...thanks to
Tom & crew for hosting our riders on a truly
perfect day.
Our ongoing gratitude to SmartPak
Equine
for designating CANTER New England as a beneficiary
charity of their wonderful SmartBlue program (great-looking items whose purchase generates a percentage
of proceeds to help horse rescue organizations!) SmartPak has long
supported CANTER NE, and we can all personally vouch for their A+
customer service and outstanding line of products.
Lots and lots of thanks -
and a hearty recommendation to prospective customers! - go to
Anne Nadel's Wimsey's Echo Equestrian Supply in Marshfield, VT. Anne is a devoted "mom" to
3 OTTBs - two of whom were adopted through CANTER NE! - and is fantastic about collecting donations and organizing raffles to
help other, not-as-fortunate horses at the track.
Stop by Wimsey's Echo, from
10-5 Tuesday through Saturday, or by appointment:
Much appreciation to the compassionate and highly
skilled Dr.
Grant Myhre, for always providing great
care to our horses and supporting equine rescue.
