No-shows for appointments to view horses put the CANTER program at risk!

No-shows hurt the credibility of the program with trainers/owners making them less likely to list horses with us. If something comes up, you change your mind, or you find another horse - PLEASE take a moment to call any trainers you made appointments with and cancel. It only takes a minute, and helps the horses by extending courtesy to trainers/owners willing to work with CANTER.

Keep in mind you are visiting a workplace. Time is taken out of their work day to show you horses, so honesty is paramount. Being up front with trainers/owners about your interest in their horse. Also, to ensure the success of your visit we advise you to call trainers/owners in advance to check on the horse's availability.

Affair in the Air - This lovely horse was rescued by our friends at Voice For Horses. He is now available for adoption. He is an awesome chestnut gelding, 16.2 hands, ten years old. Carefully rehabbed after a nasty fall in his last race August 2007. Fully recovered, sound, back under saddle and ready to start a new career. Just Leaveit To Me - beautiful 6 yo dark bay gelding measuring 16.0h 1/2" barefoot. Since retiring from racing after approx 40 starts, "Timmy" has been hacked out on trails twice, walk trot cantered, trotted over poles and very small x's and verticals. Timmy does not crib, weave or stall walk. He has had a tie back operation that causes some nasal drainage on one side when bedded on straw, so shavings or sawdust are recommended.
