Lola (Drivenbydesire)

THE STORY OF Lola We took Lola (aka Drivenbydesire) to her second show yesterday and she was outstanding! Our first attempt at showing was at a combined test and it was very busy and hectic. I was as nervous as a cat and when I'm nervous, Lola is nervous, so we didn't do all that well. However, yesterday we went to a dressage schooling show which was much more sedate. My trainer rode Lola in Intro A and I rode her in Intro B. My trainer got 65.5 and second place out of 8 entries and I got 60.95 and 4th place. Lola was just wonderful and made the day into a very enjoyable experience. She now seems to be an experienced show pony and we get the same test schooling at home as we do at a show, with the great exception that she is a little more on her toes and showing off her stuff :)I realize I am extremely lucky that a 15.2 hh OTTB mare and an older, beginner re-rider have turned into a perfect match, but I think that there are many wonderful horses like Lola on the CANTER lists, just waiting for someone to care for them and give them a chance. I've attached a few pictures of Lola during her test with my trainer and also with me just before we went in. We have another show coming up in October and we are schooling at training level so maybe some blue ribbons will be on the way. Though Lola is already a champion as far as I am concerned.
