Every dollar donated goes to help the OTTBs in the CANTER Michigan program get proper medical care, a comfortable place to stay, a full belly, and tools to speed the transition from track life to their new careers. CANTER is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt non-profit organization; your donations are tax deductible.
Harry Klentner Memorial Fund for CANTER OTTBs
We at CANTER Michigan are saddened by the loss of Midwest trainer and equestrian icon Harry Klentner, who passed away on October 6, 2022, just shy of his 92nd birthday. Harry was an institution in the Michigan horse world and shaped the riding lives and careers of countless horse lovers, including CANTER Michigan trainer Jennifer Blades. Harry loved all horses, but he had a soft spot for Thoroughbreds, admiring their huge hearts, versatility, and willingness to do so many different jobs. His family has generously asked that donations be made to CANTER Michigan in his memory in lieu of flowers. The Harry Klentner Memorial Fund for CANTER OTTBs will be used to help retired Thoroughbred racehorses successfully transition into post-racetrack careers.
