Cinsault "Cin" is a big, handsome, willing and growing 4-year-old gelding who is looking for a patient and experienced adopter to finish his education. We think Cin would do well with an adopter looking for a pleasure horse.
On the ground - Cin is an overall good boy with good manners and who stands great for the farrier, vet, and grooming and tacking.
In the pasture/stable - Cin is currently turned out with a group of three young Thoroughbreds who enjoy playing with each other. While he gets along with likeminded geldings, he's very passive. He will do best being turned out with other submissive geldings while he figures out herd dynamics.
Under saddle - Cin is currently going walk, trot and canter under saddle. He's very willing but as a big, young, green horse who is still growing he will do best with a patient, experienced adopter who will bring him along slowly in his training.
Care - Cin doesn't have any special dietary needs, but as a big, young and growing horse, he needs to be fed enough to sustain his growing body, especially as he continues conditioning and training. He's currently in front shoes and should remain shod. Cin has some wear and tear from his racing career so he may need maintenance depending on his future career.
Background - Cin was retired as non-competitive with no known injuries after just 12 starts. He did exhibit some back and stifle soreness upon retirement so after rest and some supportive treatments, he's been in a program designed to build up his muscles. Cin will do best with an experienced adopter who can continue this type of program; bringing him along slowly to help him achieve his full potential.
Prospective adopters must complete an adoption application and be approved by CANTER Michigan prior to viewing and/or adopting a horse. Please visit our website to review our adoption process and complete an application https://canterusa.org/michigan/#resources.
