Implicitly "Mick" is a handsome and friendly 2015 KY-bred bay gelding who will make a great prospect for an intermediate to advanced rider looking for a low impact flat work/pleasure/trail partner. Mick has a nice forward walk and a rhythmic trot and will quietly walk on the trail. He readily picks up the left lead canter and is working on his right lead.  He collects on the bit and understands lateral movement. Mick has been primarily ridden English but could go Western with the proper training.  Mick is well behaved, has no stable vices, is calm to lead, easy to handle and groom, stands still in cross ties and is great for vet and farrier. Mick goes out with one other gelding and is good to lead to and from the pasture. He loves attention and will come to you in the field or in the stall. Mick currently wears from shoes and is not on any special diet or supplements.  Mick is a war horse, with 66 starts and a race record of 10-11-13 and earnings of $174,808, racing exclusively in California. His last race was 8/17/2024 at Santa Rosa. After being donated to CANTER, Mick was discovered to have had fixation surgery in his left fore fetlock. He has been doing well in training but after his long racing career deserves a low impact life.

While our OTTBs receive some post-race training, all are offered as green prospects and will require an adopter who has experience with retraining off-track Thoroughbreds and/or will be working under the guidance of an experienced professional trainer.
