The Post Parade: New arrivals and horses in rehab

The Starting Gate: Horses in training and available soon

The Pasture: Horses available for adoption to non-riding homes

Sponsorship information is coming soon! In the meantime, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to help these deserving athletes get the care they need to recover.

Horses in rehab may be available for early adoption to approved adopters who are qualified and willing to finish their rehab. Please contact CANTER Michigan at cantermichigan@canterusa.org for details. Adoption fees will increase with training.

The Post Parade

The lineup for our post parade includes horses who are new to CANTER Michigan and being evaluated as well as those undergoing rehabilitation before beginning their retraining. Many of them have received surgery through our partnership with Michigan State University, while others just need some R&R from their days at the racetrack.

Seeking The Money

The Starting Gate

These horses have started their retraining and will be available for adoption soon. They will receive preliminary training in walk, trot and canter under saddle to prepare them for their new homes and careers. Adoption fees increase as horses progress in their training - fill out an adoption application now! Watch for more horses coming soon!

The Pasture

The horses in our pasture suffered career-ending injuries and have earned their retirement. They still have lots of love to give and are ready to be companions, best friends and unofficial therapists for caring homes that can give them the love they deserve.

Thanks to our generous partners.

CANTER is a 501(c)(3) non-profit providing retiring thoroughbred racehorses with new career opportunities.
