Over the past 3 months CANTER volunteers have been hard at work talking with website users and other volunteers creating ideas on how to improve canterusa.org. We’re excited to announce that the CANTER website (canterusa.org) will be getting a design refresh at the end of 2016!
When we launched the new CANTER site last year, we were trying to accomplish so much; responsive design, searchable listings, better admin access, etc. This year, the goal is to simplify the site to make it easier for the user to get to what they want to do most – look at horses and get involved.

We’ve created a solid plan of improvements that will help the site be more beautiful and easier to use than ever before including:
- A more robust horse listings website in its own site experience
- A simplified and clearer main navigation
- Better search tools for horse listings
- Refreshed look and feel using larger images and minimal text
- Less website pages containing more relevant/useful information
- Simplified internal systems to help the site load more quickly
- More robust Affiliate websites
To fully explain these changes and the research that went into them, we’ve created the first ever CANTER Digital Report. It will guide you through the planned digital optimizations that CANTER USA volunteers are working on to create a better system for rehoming ex-racehorses.
