Meet “Fist Pump” – one of the horses helped by your donations to CANTER USA.
“Fist Pump” retired from racing, arrived at CANTER Colorado in January, 2015.
He received vet evaluations, treatment and was cleared to begin retraining.

March, 2015 this 2009 California bred gelding was taken to the Rocky Mountain Horse Expo by CANTER Colorado where he was selected by Steuart Pittman (Retired Racehorse Project) and Dale Simanton (Gate to Great) to demonstrate the versatility of thoroughbreds in different careers with unknown riders.

“Fist Pump” had never seen a western saddle or tack but he quickly adapted and was ridden flawlessly by Dale before a very impressed crowd of people.
“Fist Pump” is in training to compete in the October “Retired Racehorse Project Makeover” at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, through a partnership with CANTER Colorado and Dale Simanton.

YOUR DONATIONS to CANTER USA can help many thoroughbreds like “Fist Pump” get the chance they need.. to excel in new careers – demonstrate their adaptability – show their athleticism – and share that wonderful ‘heart of a thoroughbred’ with a new family. PLEASE DONATE TODAY!
